Artistic creativity, a fundamental cultural principle, can become a pivotal bridging element between Visual Arts Education (VAE) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), aiming to transform educational settings into agents of sustainability. This chapter discusses the prospects of a meaningful appreciation and approach of the Visual Arts in formal curricula: it explores the potential of their integration in a holistic education towards sustainability, attempting to shed new light on the interconnection between visual arts education and museum education in the framework of ESD.
