The Art of Learning Art

image of The Art of Learning Art

This article discusses and describes the way in which a set of pedagogical actions and the artistic results students they produce can become an institutionalized art collection. In 1977, the artist and drawing teacher, Ferran Morell, born in Valencia,Spain, promoted an artistic teaching process based on the direct contact with artists and their artworks. In his methodology, he encourages artistic learning based on a model of collective creation that encourages collaborative productions. Over the years, the quality of pedagogical artworks from Morell's students have been recognized institutionally as a whole and resulted in a Special Collection currently held by the Enric Soler i Godes Foundation of the Jaume I University of Castellón.
