In the chapter, I explore the problem of educational practises carried out by the museums of South- East Poland. My approach bases on Immanuel Wallerstein's and Roland Robertson theories of globalization, Florian Znaniecki's sociology, and Zbynĕk Zbyslav Stránský's museology. I focus on museum staff perspective on the topic and analyse how do specific context of peripherality, museum education ideas developed under communism, exclusion and particularly educational policy shape the cooperation between museums and schools. According to interviewed museum workers, Polish school is not able to provide education in specific areas and that museum education might fill the gap if the curricula allow it. Even under limited conditions it enriches the information about region, shapes desired attitudes, and empowers youth of this peripheral region. Given this potential, museum-school cooperation should become a compulsory part of the formal educational system.
