This chapter considers the educational work and philosophy of the Gardiner Museum in Toronto. As a small museum specializing in ceramics, we are in a unique position to consider how historical objects, contemporary practice, and hands-on making in clay intersect to reveal aspects of ourselves and contemporary society.
