The book chapter discusses the results of the Santa Cruz Research Project, conducted at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, between 2018 and 2022. The project aimed at combining research in history of architecture (to reconstitute the Monastery of Santa Cruz in 1834, when religious orders were suppressed in Portugal) with 3D modelling and updated technological apps, and also with urban and architectural design (developed by final year master course students) in order to envisage the transformation of the existing reality, in accordance with the UNESCO Historical Urban Landscape Approach. The 3D model of the monastery was developed to be seen along a circuit of 7 hotspots, around the actual Church and Cloister of Santa Cruz and surrounding areas, by activation of QR codes. We also essayed the 3D reconstitution, in its original setting, of the “Last Supper” terracotta ensemble, today at the Machado de Castro National Museum.
