Abstract

This interview, which was conducted June 5, 2006, in Colombo, focuses on the travelling show business started by Hans Van Starrex's father, in the late 1920s. It is based on the recollection of anecdotes related to him and attests to the early interest shown in the cinema by enterprising Ceylonese, whose ingenuity assisted in developing the new art on the island.
