Abstract

This paper uses a case study of the performance drawing from 2017 to discuss the recording through drawing as a method for deeper understanding of movements, interactions and perceptions. Referring to the sociological concept of space as ‘relational’, this discussion of the drawing suggests that ‘space’ is experienced in a circular momentum of action and reaction, of perceiving and being perceived. Furthermore, it discusses the mutability of perception as understood through examples of other artists’ performative drawings.
