Abstract

This editorial presents an analysis of research articles, clinical commentaries and reviews that attest to the evolution of the profession of drama therapy. Each contribution raises critical questions pertaining to how, where and with whom drama therapists train and practise. Contributing authors unsettle notions of private, public and virtual space, ableist assumptions that interfere with training as a drama therapist, and call for a deeper engagement with what distinguishes our profession while upholding equity, diversity and justice as core values.

Resumen

Este editorial presenta un análisis de artículos de investigación, comentarios clínicos y revisiones que atestiguan la evolución de la profesión de dramaterapia. Cada contribución plantea preguntas críticas relacionadas con cómo, dónde y con quién se entrenan y practican los dramaterapeutas. Los autores contribuyentes cuestionan las nociones de espacio privado, público y virtual, suposiciones discriminatorias de suficiencia que interfieren con el entrenamiento como dramaterapeuta, también exigen un compromiso más profundo con lo que distingue a nuestra profesión en cuestión de defender la equidad, la diversidad y la humildad cultural como valores fundamentales.

Résumé

Cet éditorial présente une analyse darticles de recherche, de commentaires cliniques et de revues qui témoignent de l’évolution de la profession de drama thérapie. Chaque contribution soulève des questions critiques concernant comment, où et avec qui les drama thérapeutes se forment et pratiquent. Les auteurs contributeurs bouleversent les notions d’espace privé, public et virtuel, les hypothèses capacitistes qui interfèrent avec la formation de drama thérapeute et appellent à un engagement plus profond avec ce qui distingue notre profession tout en maintenant l’équité, la diversité et l’humilité culturelle comme valeurs fondamentales.
