Abstract

This article reports on a case study research in Greece carried out in two primary-school classrooms with children aged between 10 and 12. The research aims were informed by a review of literature about visual culture education and recent developments in Greek art education. This article describes the Greek educational context and a curriculum intervention. It presents the findings from the intervention and concludes that visual culture is a valuable and necessary part of art education that should be introduced into the national curriculum for primary-school art in Greece.
