Abstract

Santos Juli reflects on the indirect impact of 9/11 on Spanish politics by making some counterfactual suppositions. He traces the beginning of the People's Party government's trouble back to Jos Mara Aznar's decision to join President Bush at the Azores summit, and criticizes the current PP politicians for not being able to face up to the mistakes they made in handling the Madrid bombings on 11 March 2004 and the controversial parliamentary elections that followed.
