Abstract

This report of the Early Childhood Music Education Commission (ECME) Pre-conference Seminar 2024 of the International Society of Music Education (ISME) takes the viewpoint of a seasoned attendee and clinician shortly before retirement. This review covers the location, theme, structure of the seminar, concerts and social events, and concludes with why this type of seminar provides professional development opportunities not only for the new and experienced educators, but for the retired educators as they shift their role from learner and teacher to mentor. The author concludes with encouraging all early childhood music professionals to attend no matter their career stage.
