Abstract

In 2014, TANTER, The Dance Movement Therapy Association of the Czech Republic <http://www.tanter.cz> invited Chodorow to be among the international dance movement therapists who brought and continue to bring theoretical foundations and direct experience to their early and continuing intensive three and four year DMT training programs. She decided to record and share elements of their work together, with special attention to Authentic Movement, including many creative combinations, seen and explored from diverse perspectives. This article is largely informed and inspired by the psychology of C. G. Jung and the early contributions of Tina Keller, Trudi Schoop, Alma Hawkins, and Mary Whitehouse. It deepens our understanding of dyad, triad and long circle work; symbolic play; memory, imagination, the senses, emotions and their development. The conclusion describes a playful introduction to elements of neuroanatomy via symbolic enactment.
