Abstract

Abstract

Andrzej Wirth is considered one of the theoretical founders of the term “post-dramatic theatre”. With Flucht nach vorn, he now presents his memoirs, compiled in an interview and essay volume, beginning with his work in the 1950s in Poland and Germany, via his time in the USA in the 1960s and 1970s, and finishing with his direction of the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies in Gießen, Germany, and his preoccupation with modern performance theatre.
