Abstract

Fractals as one of the most thrilling fruits of modern mathematical and computer art have been playing a significant role in providing environments completely beyond the expectations of both mathematicians and artists. Recently, the appearance of a newer subfield of fractal arts entitled three-dimensional (3D) fractal art has opened windows towards a more terrific world, which, in addition to all previous properties of 2D fractals, is also 3D. Naturally, three dimensionality is a preliminary factor in exploring higher degrees of reality in fractal environments that could be called some kind of metaverse exploration in fractional dimensions. This article, recounting some properties of 3D fractals and displaying a number of author’s works in this area, aims to provide a clear perception of such a new digitally mathematical world as a second world or life with its own special properties.
