Abstract

Andrea Pagnes, an artist and writer, engages in a conversation with pioneering art historian and performance art theorist Amelia Jones to address pressing issues of relational identities within neo-liberalism and the rise of authoritarianism. Drawing from their own experiences, they emphasize the transformative power of community networks, highlighting the coexistence of healing and rage. They examine the challenges faced by artists and activists resisting a world reduced to spectacle, illustrating how performance art and ‘lifework’ contribute to cultivating and transmitting legacies.
