Abstract

In this essay, I propose a theoretical map to understand the cinematic reparation process, in the context of transitional justice in Colombia. The cinematic reparation process is a network of interrelated steps in which the State, in fulfilling its responsibility, plays the role of facilitating and ensuring spaces to achieve symbolic reparation through the production of documentary films. This process consists of: the active participation of reparation subjects, the reconstruction of memory, audiovisual restitution, and exhibition as a means of reparation.
