Imaginary mixtapes, invisible zines – Aotearoa’s missing queercore ephemera

Queercore punk’s defining object, the J.D.s Top Ten Homocore Hit Parade (1990) contains one track by a defunct Aotearoa noise punk band – ‘Tell Me Why’, by Gorse. Here, I investigate the potential in both the mixtape and the zine to which it pertains, within the context of the local and trans-national queer imagination.
