The title, we thought, said it all. But perhaps it says more than that, more than the simple sum of its parts. In deciding to launch a new scholarly journal, we knew that encouraging debate went with the territory. What we had not envisaged when publishing our call for submissions late in 2001 was receiving an unsolicited article that implicitly - if only in passing - revealed the thinking that led the Editorial Board to our chosen title. Thankfully, our peer reviewers, drawn from the Editorial Board and International Advisory Board, took the same, strong line with this submission as the Editor. They insisted it be published in this, our first number.
