Abstract

What this article will share is a new and compelling discussion surrounding film policies and censorship regulations in Korea under Japanese colonial rule. With this task in mind, we may begin to revisit the lost memories of Korean cinema. So few films made before 1945 exist today, the search for and discovery of them is a vital tool in understanding Korean history
