Abstract

Abstract

In order to oppose (hyper)production of art in late capitalism, such an opposition within the art field has precisely to be - produced. This paradox at the heart of strategies of 'refusal of labour' in contemporary art can be viewed as the basis for a critical articulation of possible understandings of the relation between art and work - and as the starting point for an attempt at overcoming the existent understandings of these relations.
